tale of two wars

As the nation steadies itself to accept the facts of our failure in Iraq, we must prepare ourselves to admit an even greater failure in our own nation:the war on drugs. As the recent killings of innocents in new york and atlanta demonstrate our federally mandated police drug squads have been given carte blanc to assault and kill in the pursuit of drugs .The prison corporate state has at its center 2.5 million "slave laborers" working for third world wages. Its "big business"at its lowest labor costs ideal .twenty five million americans have been arrested for marijuana offenses, at what cost ?hooded informants,no knock entries ,weed&seed urban zones wherein low level offenders recieve long manditory sentences, disenfranchisement of a huge number of released felons, roadblocks with unauthorized search! As with alcohol prohibition it is clear that only two groups profit, "mafia" and" enforcers".the mafia shifted easily from alcohol to drug distribution.the revenoorers simply shifted focus from alcohol to marijuana. For 60 years we have been victems of cruel propaganda depriving us of our freedoms and the manifold benefits of all god's creation. We must end the war in Iraq but for the love of mankind let us end the war on drugs.

end of empire

Do americans, who cheered ronald reagans admonishment to mikael gorbachev to "tear down this wall',not recall that the 'Gipper' was sending ground to air missles & myriad other weapons/ammunition to "our" mujadeen in afghanistan.Who among "patriots'did not cheer the grizzly videotapes of massacres of russian soldiers in roadside ambushes; what "child of democracy" did not feel a glint of national pride when another russian chopper smoked into the bleak pashtun tundra?....Well we know that the russian incursion into afghanistan brought down the mighty socialist state.Loudly we praised those brave muslim warriors who repelled the invader/colonizers and freed wretched afghanistan from slavic domination......Well well well what a decade or two will do.....can we not see the same fate awaiting the mighty capitalist state?Bankrupt, weakened and reviled for our retreat from the relative civility of the geneva conventions, the mighty 'corporatocracy' is reeling from a global and domestic revolt against its policies. "our mujahadeen"{ frankensteinlike} become the Taliban and our unwavering support of israeli policy no matter how barbaric, drives our former allies against russia into the hands of islamofundamentalists.

rummy's good job

don rumsfelds removal would on the face of it seem to be a bitter defeat for the right but a quick look at the 'bottom line' will truly assess the hugh victory for our"national security corporatocracy'.the downsizing of our military has resulted in a geyser of cash for the corporate universe .from halliburton to private mercenary thug squads ,tens of billions have been poured into the pockets of unscrupulous war profiteers.Rummy is a hero to these "patriotic businessmen.
