Yes the entire criminal justice system is misdirected both philosophically and mechanically.We as a society are imprisoning more people for lesser offenses than our stalinistic opponents of the recent past ever attained.The more spartan among us may eschew intellectual discourse as a problem solving method but,as the latest election results will bear out,these are a rapidly shrinking minority......Hidden in the recent Justice dept. report of 7000000 prisoners in custody, was the shocking statistic that 65% of these 7000000 are mentally ill.The prison system has become a revolving door warehouse for the most helpless among us...Shame on us all.
